The Dark Walkthrough
Thief is a tricky and terrifying game. Although it may resemble a first person shooter, it requires a completely different method of play. Entire evenings can be lost to one level, trying to strategically plan and then execute the perfect heist. Allow us to soften the blow slightly and train you up to become a master thief, whilst also stopping a religious battle threatening the destruction of all humanity. So that kind of makes you the good guy, ironically.
We'll assume that you've completed the training mission and absorbed the information therein, and that you're used to the first person control system. You should be able to move Garrett as if he were an extension of yourself, as your reactions will be tested regularly when it comes to avoiding those guards. We'll also assume that you won't be utterly petrified when it comes to the undead levels, especially the Return to the Cathedral. We're wrong in that assumption, but we'll make it anyway. If you're the sort of person that hides behind a cushion when watching films like Alien, you're probably best off just uninstalling Thief and saving yourself the embarrassment.
Oh, and as the subtitle suggests, it's Dark. Really dark. So I'm afraid our screenshots look rather like black splodges until your eyes have adjusted to the sheer lack of light. Apologies on behalf of opticians worldwide.
