Eternal Legend - Project Zero

Battle Mode

Battle Mode becomes available after having completed the game once. To access it, load the Cleared Data savegame. Each battle is a single room with a specific target and limited film with which to drive them. Your best time, best shot, and overal rank are recorded for each. Completing all 20 enables Nightmare difficulty and unlocks the Sense bonus ability.

Mission 01

Target: Editor's

Location: Doll Room

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Ogata should pose no difficulty in this simple room, especially with the camera's power at the level it should be by now.

Mission 02

Target: Broken Neck

Location: Entrance

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

This room has a few natural obstacles, like the large hole and the stairs to the lower level. Steer clear of them and there should be little problem.

Mission 03

Target: Floating Woman

Location: Forest Path

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

This ghost is very weak, and will fall after only a few low-powered shots before she even has the chance to attack.

Mission 04

Target: Assistant's

Location: Tatami Room

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Hirasaka is slow and weak, but constantly circles and can rush attack at any moment.

Mission 05

Target: Novelist's

Location: Backyard

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Fortunately, the back yard is a large, open arena. Takamine has a lot of HP, so charged-up shots are required given the poor film for this mission. Other than that, this is thankfully easier than the encounter from the first night.

Mission 06

Target: LongHair Woman

Location: Corridor

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

This thin corridor is the absolute worst place for this battle. She frequently phases, and spends most of the time circling around Miku. This means she is constantly dodging into the walls, and you can never be sure where she'll emerge. Don't wait for charge, as she's weak enough to be driven by low-power shots.

Mission 07

Target: Wandering Monk

Location: Abyss

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

The monk is strong, and Miku can only afford to take one hit. Charge up as he advances, keeping up with his sidestepping, and snap at full charge or when he is about to attack. A low-powered hit will cause him to rush towards Miku, so immediately shoot again to stun him.

Mission 08

Target: Blinded

Location: Grand Hall

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Two powerful shots should see this weak demon off in next to no time, without having to move a muscle.

Mission 09

Target: Broken Neck, Editor's

Location: Entrance

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Both ghosts are slow, so the risk isn't as high as you may think. Avoid the obstacles as before, and try to lure them together in one corner before running to the other. This way you can have fully-charged shots against both targets, which is very good for your ranking.

Mission 10

Target: Folklorist's

Location: Backyard

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Munakata's strength is his phasing sidesteps, which makes it difficult to build up the charge required to finish him off in just 10 shots. Stay as far away as possible and try to react to each phase, and high-powered shots are a possibility.

Mission 11

Target: HeadlessPriest

Location: Cherry-Atrium

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Watch him approach, and snap as soon as the capture circle flashes amber to stop him from casting his spell. If he leaps into the air, aim up and catch him just before he lands. Film isn't a problem here, as his lack of speed means there's no difficulty building up powerful shots.

Mission 12

Target: Crawling Girl, LongHair Woman

Location: Entrance

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

LongHair Woman is a nightmare at the best of times, and is made no easier by the little girl grabbing at your ankles. As one is airborne and the other crawling, it's difficult to catch a double shot. Instead focus on high-powered pictures of each, and you should just have enough film to complete this mission.

Mission 13

Target: Blinded

Location: Abyss

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

You've fought Blinded often enough to beat this mission without difficulty. Just stay still, and only move for the brief moment after she has attacked during which she is stunned.

Mission 14

Target: Crawling Girl, Girl in Well

Location: Backyard

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Focus on keeping your distance from the slow Crawling Girl while hitting the other with powered shots. If one fades or teleports, transfer the viewfinder to the other to keep the charge.

Mission 15

Target: Family Master

Location: Fish-TankRoom

Equipment: 10xType-17 film, 1xSpirit Stone

The Family Master is very strong, and 10 Type-17 films is barely enough to cope. He is slow, so head to the opposite end of the room and try to stay focused to build up an attack and, if possible, wait until he performs his crouch maneuver.

Mission 16

Target: 2xHeadlessPriest

Location: Grand Hall

Equipment: 20xType-37 film, 1xSpirit Stone

20 exposures is enough, but the opponents are strong and won't let up for a second. One circles and throws spiritual fire, while the other sinks into the ground and attacks Miku's ankles. Be sure to focus on one to slay him quickly and reduce the threat.

Mission 17

Target: Assistant's, Novelist's

Location: Kimono Room

Equipment: 20xType-37 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Visibility is low in here due to all of the hanging kimono. Also, Takamine is a difficult opponent at the best of times. Tomoe is still as weak as ever, though, so she can be finished off first to make life much easier.

Mission 18

Target: Woman Hanging, Folklorist's

Location: Backyard

Equipment: 15xType-37 film, 1xSpirit Stone

The Munakatas are a formidable force, even in an open area such as this. However, they don't attack as a pair and so focusing on one at a time will see this battle through.

Mission 19

Target: Family Master

Location: Buddha Room

Equipment: 10xType-37 film, 1xSpirit Stone

Ten exposures isn't a lot, but it should be enough to see the Family Master off. He is a little tougher than in the FishTank-Room mission, but otherwise just as defeatable.

Mission 20

Target: Kirie

Location: Rope Altar

Equipment: 50xType-74 film

This is the Kirie from the Hell Gate, capable of earthquakes and instant death. That said, 50 Type-74 films are more than enough, and this battle is no more difficult than the Hell Gate.
